I have an edge for photography since my school days. I purchased a lower model camera out of my pocket money and enjoyed taking out a lot of photographs. Later on I shifted to a battery operated lens camera (Non SLR) with an ambition to buy a SLR camera later on as they are expensive. Recently my dream of purchasing a SLR camera came true. I was on duty leave to visit my hometown at Guwahati and on the 2nd last day of my leave, I purchased a DSLR EOS 1000D camera.Next day I left for my place of posting at Nazira driving my own vehicle. Nazira is almost 400 kms from Guwahati and we alway have a transit stoppage at GL Resort, Kaziranga and I was very excited as I will be using my new camera. We reached our transit stoppage, we ordered our lunch and during the waiting time, I thought the best way is to enjoy the photography of the Kaziranga surrounding. I went to bring my camera from the car while the other member of my family including my 3 years old child went further to enjoy the sceneric natural beauty. Before I could fit the lens on my camera, I heard a shrill cry of my youngest son. I ran forward to find him totally sprinkled with mud and dirt as he slipped and fell down. I forgot about the photography and helped my wife with her luggage by opening the car hatch and it was only after my son was totally cleaned up, he stopped crying. I missed the opportunity of the lifetime, I wished I could have taken a few snap of his. Memories with supporting photographs could have been really exciting.....perhaps next time with new events.
